The 300 SLR (Ref. CAR2112) is a tribute to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR of the 1950s, immediately it is distinguished by the brown and orange degrade dial where the colours fade in and out and changes depending on the light, but is closely linked to metallic bronze colour. The colours and design are a tribute to the earlier Heuers such as the barrel Carrera and the Silverstone.  There are orange highlights on the centre chronograph hand and at each of the hour markers. The sub seconds at 9 has no dial marking which is similar to that of the Heuer Carrera of the 1970’s. The logo is a Heuer logo and not Tag Heuer even though this is stricty not a re edition The Heuer only dials were re editions of earlier models. This makes a refreshing look to the logo. The pushers are shared with the Carrera 1887 and they’re a great design- similar to those used on the first Heuer Monza Re-edition. The case back is engraved with the Mercedes 300 SLR racing car. The movement is the Calibre 1887, the TAG Heuer movement that has its origins in the fine Seiko 6S37 Calibre. TAG Heuer has redesigned almost every part of the movement and manufactures in-house many components for the Calibre as well as assembling the movement in Switzerland. Width is 41 mm excluding the crown, 44 mm including the crown, 47 mm lug to lug and 14 mm thick
