Hamilton W10 Military Wristwatch. Issue 21959/73

The W10 watch was widely issued to the British Armed Forces in throughout the 1970’s. This one was issued in 1973 and is issue number 21959. These watches are made to Ministry of Defence specification. The watch has been worn on a soldier’s wrist and likely to have seen military action. The Hamilton watches were chosen as standard issue by the Ministry of Defence due to their ruggedness, durability and reliability. They are indeed very strong and durable watches, and the Hamilton watches are able to hold their own against the adverse conditions, and other rugged paces that they may be put through during military exercises. The condition of this one is good, but not excellent. When they are in excellent or mint condition, they have not seen enough action. The dial though is in very good condition, with some light marks to the case. Has stopping seconds so watches could be synchronised for military purposes. The back is marked with the usual military ordinance numbers. This is a very nice piece of military memorabilia. The width is 35 mm excluding crown, 38 mm including crown. The thickness is 13 mm and the lug to lug distance is 41 mm. This is a 49 year old military watch, it has marks to the case and crystal but runs well
